The Mawignack Preserve
The Mawignack Preserve, owned by Scenic Hudson and managed by the Greene Land Trust is one of our more recent projects. The 144-acre property on Snake Road in Catskill includes two miles of shoreline on the Catskill Creek, just upstream from the village of Catskill. The land also features a portion of the old rail bed from the historic Catskill Mountain Railway. This Preserve includes a one-mile trail open to the public. Parking is on Snake Road.
Visiting the Mawignack Preserve
The 144-acre Mawignack Preserve is located 0.7 miles down Snake Road in the Town of Catskill. The property is open dawn to dusk year round. Leashed dogs are welcome. A marked loop trail leads from the parking area down to meadow and along Catskill Creek.
