The Athens Sportsman Club in partnership with the Greene Land Trust will be holding their annual children’s (ages 5 and up) Bluebird House Building event at the Willows at Brandow Point on Saturday April 1st. Greene Land Trust Board member, John Cameron will host the event and assist with bird house construction. Bring your child and have fun learning about Bluebirds while building a nice new home for our lovely Bluebirds.
Your child’s newly constructed Bluebird house can be taken home or left at the Willows for volunteers to install at one the Greene Land Trust’s preserves.
The Bluebird house building event will be help indoors at “The Willows,” a Dutch colonial farmhouse built c. 1788. The house and 2.3 acres on which it sits are owned and maintained by the Greene Land Trust. The Greene Land Trust also manages the surrounding Brandow Point Unique Area, owned by DEC and maintained as open space for passive recreation.
This is a FREE event. We ask that call John Cameron at (518) 378-0033 to register for one of three time slots: 9-10am, 10-11am, or 11-noon. Each time slot is limited to 15 children, on a first come first served basis.
