Once in a "blue moon"

Blue Moon and Night Owls Walk Friday August 31, 2012

Join us at the Willows at Brandows Point to watch the “blue moon” rise over the river and “prowl for owls” with naturalist Rich Guthrie.

Arrive by 6:45 for a leisurely walk down to the river to watch the moon rise about 7:15 or avoid the walk and watch from the meadows near the parking area. Refreshments will be provided.

A ‘blue moon” happens when there are two full moons in the same month. It will not happen again for more than two years so this is a rare opportunity.

This is also a great opportunity to see the five outdoor sculptures installed at the Willows as part of a show organized by the Athens Cultural Center. There are also installations at the Athens riverfront park and at Four Mile Point. Brochures with directions to visit the other sculpture sites will be available.

The Willows at Brandows Point is located at 480 Rt 385 in Athens – opposite the end of Howard Hall Road. An RSVP is appreciated but not necessary to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or 731-5544. Hope to see you there.
